Welcome to Sumi’s Kitchen!

This is a hands-on cooking class, which includes cooking demonstrations, recipes to take home, the experience to make your Japanese dishes by yourself and a tasting of the dishes.

This class will also introduce Japanese culture through lessons on dining etiquette and information on food in Japan.

Gojyuan Shojin Ryori Workshop 2021

Shojin Ryori is a vegetarian cuisine which is based mainly on rice, soybean products (e.g. tofu), seaweed, mushrooms and seasonal fresh vegetables and is traditionally eaten by Buddhist monks. Many amazing cooking techniques are unique and some of the dishes are not available at an ordinary Japanese restaurant.
